Best 1911 for the Money VIDEO

Here's an update on my Ruger SR1911, for the price, I do not believe there is a better 1911 available today.

I am a revolver man by faith, but I would like to have one in the collection. Also want a Glock 19, really just to shoot cheap 9mm.

The thumb safety on the 1911, is about the only manual operated safety I would want on a defense gun. Most rifles and shotguns have them in poor spots. Only one I like is my Mosberg which has it on top, and can be operated by the thumb. I have never shot a 1911 but the safety seems to be in a good spot.

1911 seem to get kinda pricey. How does the Ruger compare?

Beware the man with one gun.

MSRP on the SR1911 is $799, the only one they list and it is out of stock on Buds is a limited edition for $799. They got Glock .45s in the mid 500s. I like Buds cause you can compare lots of guns in one place.

Yowzers, really? I got mine last August for $580 out the door. I placed my order seven months previous to August. Long wait.

I'm not sure for $800 if it is, necessarily, the best choice. The SA Range Officer might be one to look at.

But, frankly, I soured on Springfield after having to return my SA Loaded two times for service/repair, and the extractor broke after 500 rounds, and ... I had to get the trigger adjusted down to 3 pounds from the 6 pounds in which it came!

    Not happy.
