I am talking about the first time you strapped on a gun and went out into the public?
Were you way too worried about people seeing the gun? How strange was it for you?

I was very self-conscious the first week or so, I was convinced everyone was trying to spot my gun, even though no one knew that I was carrying, or could see right through my shirt or the gun was going to spring out of my clothing at any moment and go sliding across the floor. I’m glad that didn’t last long and am very comfortable with carrying, now I’m more uncomfortable if I don’t have my gun, it’s like everyone knows I’m not carrying.
I didn't have too many concerns about what others thought, and it wasn't too difficult to figure out what was under that sweat shirt, but it was a day of thinking everyone in the world was watching your every move. which of course was not the case.

I wasn't worried in those ways. I just kept petting the gun, still do. I haven't done it enough, that I forget it is there, or it becomes like a knife on my belt or phone.

I don't know that I was worried wearing that parka in August!
I actually was more paranoid than I needed to be, but I think we all are for the first few times. I did the first thing all people do and that was the Wal Mart walk.
Ahh yes, the Wal Mart walk. LOL. Woo Hoo, I'm in Wally World with a gun!
I was a little concerned the first time out and kept checking the stupid thing. I am sure I was very obvious to someone trained to look for that kind of thing.

I always wonder if the security people see you adjusting your piece and think you are shoplifting. What if they stop you on the way out and make a grab for your gun thinking it is merchandise?

I don't think they grab, they will talk to you. They are not supposed to do more then that. They are not allow to stop people running out of the store with stolen stuff. Every know and then someone does, and some get fired, then it is a big story.
I am still looking for the perfect carry set up, that you can't tell it is there.

Ya it's policy that their store folks don't actually do much of anything, just get it documented.
It keeps their liability down.
