Arizona DPS is reporting that New Mexico no longer honors the Arizona Permit/License to Carry. I had been hearing rumors this was going to happen. I have been hearing there are a couple more they may drop. Time will tell. http://www.azdps.gov/Services/Concealed_Weapons/Reciprocity/

The KY Supreme Court ruled that a firearm locked in a vehicle in a University Parking lot was not a violation of the School rules/policies. Univ. of Kentucky fired an employee who had a firearm locked in his vehicle. The Court ruled that he had a right to keep it there and it was a violation for them to fire him under state law. There is a link to this Decision on the Kentucky page at www.handgunlaw.us (http://www.handgunlaw.us) and you can view it Here: http://www.handgunlaw.us/documents/agopinions/KYSupCtFirearmsOnUniversityProperty.pdf

I like the Kentucky supremes decision.

There needs to be some sort of line drawn as to where the university system can and cannot go.

I am still a bit confused with what is happening with Arizona, and why states seem to be withdrawing support for them, but time will tell what the real story is.

NM dropping AZ is mainly because a new guy is in charge of the Firearms Unit. He has his own agenda. AZ changed their law when they went to Constitutional Carry and their training requirement to obtain a permit/license was weakened. Less training was required. I believe this has caused other states that honored them to look at AZ closer.

Thanks gary.

Interesting to note, and I have to wonder what is coming down the road. Here in Pennsylvania we don't have any training requirements and we've got a pretty good number of states that reciprocate, although it could be more.

Training is probably not a bad idea, but it will certainly be met with resistance here.

dvmcmr, email me at admins@handgunlaw.us and let me know where you live in PA. I spend a lot of time around East Brady PA. Might be able to get together or even shoot while up there if you are close.
