Outside of deer hunting spring turkey is about my favorite type of hunting in the big woods.
The sound of a mature gobbler chatting it up with his harem is just a great sound out in the bush.
Right now we've got more turkeys than deer it seems, in just about every county other than those where little hunting is allowed.
They've destroyed our deer herd, but the big birds are here in good numbers.
I remember not so long ago when you couldn't find a turkey in the woods, and now they are everywhere.
We had one in our back yard a few years back, which is the picture in the picture forum.
I'm ready to get out and scratch on a box and have some fun talking turkey.
