Straight up question...
Are you a member of the NRA or another organization that does the same thing as they do?
If you are not, why aren't you?
It's not a smartazz question, I'd just like to hear why some do not join such an organization, and what their reasons are.

I am a life member of the NRA and do support others as I can.

I've been a life member since about 1984, and recently they keep sending me mail to become a member.

I have been since 2000. Clinton started my interest in politics.

Likewise! Was a Life Member for 35+ years, but after noticing some of the pols both in and outside Texas (Harry Reid comes to mind) they've been supporting and some of the political stands they've taken outside the gun realm, found I couldn't support them anymore and cancelled my membership. Many Texans 'round these woods have done the same.

I am not looking to debate the topic. But what have they supported you don't like?

Yes for about 30 years. I only do 5 year memberships at a time. I hold off on going as a life member because I want to keep a check on them and make sure that they don't drift off from what I believe. So far they have served as nothing but a good organization IMO and have kept me from veering off by continually providing good hard core facts and info, and keeping the record straight from the corrupt media. I often consider the life membership but the 5 year has been comfortable, but either way I have no forseeable plans of not being a member. I think they're great!

Yes, but yearly only...as that is about all I can afford now anyway.
With age, I have learned that there is compromise and reward as most any
relationships.....
I guess with me, it kinda boils down similiar to the same as our current
Conservative people in politics overall....
"Better than the other side at least...usually...."
So, I can only hope all the NRA battles come down to how they
want to win the war for me and others etc.....and their final
results when all deals/dusts have settled...so far anyway...they
beat the Democratic party to hell, as far as 2nd rights....in my opinion.

One reason I support the NRA, is because they are the biggest, so that probably means more clout then a local group. Plus I don't know much about other groups.
