Anybody use Ballistol? I never heard of it, until I saw Hickock45 using it on Youtube. I was ordering something from Midway, and got some. I like that it is safe on wood. I may use it on my hunting rifles. I never thought about it until I read recently that gun oil can harm stocks.
I used a little on a handgun, can't really say if it works or not. it got good reveiws for black powder.

Gun oil can harm stocks? I guess I'm done..........LOL.
Seriously, it probably does affect the finish, but I've never stopped using it.
Is this stuff a synthetic lube?

When I was looking at a buyers guide for used guns, it said it can rot the wood. No, I think it supposed to be more natural. In fact it is supposed to take longer and not so harsh. I dunno. I gave in to advertising and sale pricing.

Gun oil can hurt stocks if applied in excess. If you use some sense, the oil won't do anything to you stocks.
I have heard that Ballistol is good for lubrication and cleaning and one guy claimed it was a good treatment for jock itch. It probably works just as good as most of the oils out there.
