They are predicting possible tornadoes, due to the warm spring. I live out of town, no tornado sirens. Curious if anyone has a weather radio? I don't want to be bothered with alarms for every little thing, but a tornado warning, might be a good idea.

We have one, live in the country too. Every time there is a cloud in the 12 county area the damn thing goes off. After about the second time it goes, I just shut it off and check the internet to see where the storm is at.

I have WeatherBug on my phone and it sends me alerts for everything.

That is what I am afraid of. Looking for one with a sensitivity setting, set it to oh shit. I have satellite internet, so when it gets cloudy I lose internet.
I am still a hillbilly, with just cell phone for talking.

We gave the warnings on one of our televisons, we pretty much ignore it other than one of us saying "the light on the TV is flashing"
When the weather starts coming in we'll check the radar.

That has worked for me all my life. But last few years, I have thought about this. I jsut want to get one that is not going to annoy me.

I gave my Mother a weather radio when they first came out.
my Father was a kind benevolent soul or else he woudda kicked my ass.

Zerk I have one I'll give you if you pay postage. I can hear the siren if it goes off and if all else fails I'll look outside and see if anything menacing is heading my way.

I am surprised how detailed the coverage map is. Click on your state. It shows the freq for various area. In the manual for the radio the freqs correspond to various bands on the radio. I would think this is standard. Luckily my house and camp are same WB. So I put a sharpie mark. Could put a list in the battery compartment. Print the table on the side or battery cover would be a good idea.
I don't have TV or internet at camp. At home internetis satellite and goes out in bad wether. I got Red Cross model, that takes batteries and has rechargable batteries, hand crank and solar.
In the movies they always listen to the radio. We talk about prarness. Weather diaster is the most likely. In any case a radio for news is probably good.
My camp only has a crawl space, so dammit there better be a tornado if I get in there.
