Today is the day we have to take our bikes to the shop to sign up for the "Most Miles Rode Contest". Last year was my wife's first full year of riding her own bike and she came in 3rd out of about 40 guys. I think we spent about $2,500 last year in gas alone so that she could place 3rd to win a $50 gift certificate! Went through two sets of tires, and a five states, but it was a great year to do 15,000 miles in five months while working six days a week. This year we hope to stop for more than gas and a snack, maybe even stop and see something rather than just blow past it.
Tomorrow looks better, in the 60's. Better have the seat belts on today, going to be windy all day. Have fun!

I have jury duty in Lincoln tomorrow, so I won't be able to get over there. A little wind is no big deal, we usually just take the back roads to get there and don't go all that fast. Can't tolerate all the uncovered grain trucks, the corn and beans really hurt when you run through them.
Kearney Yamaha starts Sunday hours today too so I didn't have to go yesterday when it barely got into the 40's.
Should have called you yesterday, we did Chinese last night.
Thanks, now I'm hungry! Can I do Chinese for breakfast? Is that legal?

Not in Nebraska without a permit, besides, the Mexicans that work there don't get up this early.
What time does the race start? I thought the Patrick was supposed to get slammed into the wall today? What happened?
I hope we get home in time to watch.
The race is on at 1:30pm Fox. Didn't watch yesterday's race, she came in 20 something 3 laps down I see, don't know what happened, surprised they didn't mention it on the local news last night how her day went. Looks like I will miss the first half of the race today. :-(

Don't they have a China buffet over there? I thought I saw something like that over by the eggs for dinner place.
What's the deal? Gotta go dig the tractor out of the mud?

We have three in town, don't get to eat out here much , just when I go out of town.
Out where we feed the steers the mud is a foot deep, pain in the butt! Like to do the chores early when the ground is frozen, but in the evening it's nice and soupy.

I still have snow in the shelter belt everywhere but where the deer and coyotes are bedding down. We did finally get into the pasture last weekend to get some hay out for the horses. We had to go buy some because we couldn't get out there. Can't wait until spring rains come so the ground gets solid again. The snow melt just slops it up something terrible. I can't see any gravel in the drive, looks like that will be one of the first things I do this year.

It snowed Friday, but I scraped the driveway down, hoping to prevent any ice spots. Every year I am out the down before the forecast calls for a nice day, breaking up ice. My riding usually starts in March.

We rode on New Years Day this year, did about 450 miles between the 1st and the 10th. That isn't bad for Nebraska weather.
The wind is blowing 45 mph now, I think we will wait until next weekend to sign up. When the wind speed is higher than the temp, it's just no fun.

I bought a third bike last year, for work, a Kawaski Concourse. Huge fairing on it, almost to hot in the summer. My plans were to ride it this winter, big fairing, plastic, and cheap. But I had a tire off and just didn't get to it.

Wind is blowing 52 mph right now, good time to sit in the house and watch the race.
